A new trailer for The Fantastic Four: First Steps has been released.

Set against the vibrant backdrop of a 1960s-inspired, retro-futuristic world, Marvel Studios’ The Fantastic Four: First Steps introduces Marvel’s First Family—Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic (Pedro Pascal), Sue Storm/Invisible Woman (Vanessa Kirby), Johnny Storm/Human Torch (Joseph Quinn) and Ben Grimm/The Thing (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) as they face their most daunting challenge yet.

Forced to balance their roles as heroes with the strength of their family bond, they must defend Earth from a ravenous space god called Galactus (Ralph Ineson) and his enigmatic Herald, Silver Surfer (Julia Garner). And if Galactus’ plan to devour the entire planet and everyone on it weren’t bad enough, it suddenly gets very personal.

I do like the look of this. Feels very much like the comic book version of the team and the fact we will get an accurate Galactus does make me happy. I do wonder though if they are doomed (no pun intended) to failure resulting with them arriving in the main MCU and where we will get the original Norrin Rad Silver Surfer? Also, does anyone else feel that Joseph Quinn looks like a young Robert Downey Jr?

All in all, I am very much looking forward to this.

The film will also feature John Malkovich, Natasha Lyonne and Paul Walter Hauser, both in undisclosed roles.

Matt Shakman, who was nominated for two Emmys for directing “WandaVision,” directs the new film. The script is by Eric Pearson, Josh Friedman, Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer. “WandaVision” alum Peter Cameron has also contributed writing to the project.

The film is due out on 25th July 2025.
