Origami In The Garden – Watch the trailer for the new documentary

Freestyle Digital Media, the digital film distribution division of Byron Allen’s Allen Media Group, has acquired worldwide DVD and VOD rights to the art-themed documentary Origami In The Garden. ORIGAMI IN THE GARDEN will be available to rent/own on DVD and digital HD internet, cable, and satellite platforms starting on June 6, 2023, through Freestyle Digital Media.

“I want to have a conversation with people now and hundreds of years into the future!”, said artist Kevin Box, who has always known exactly what he intends to do with his life.

ORIGAMI IN THE GARDEN is the origin story for Kevin and his wife Jennifer as they super-size tiny paper origami foldings into metal sculptures as large as 18 feet high. Kevin and Jennifer’s work explores powerful messages of peace… all generated within their BoxStudio compound in Santa Fe, New Mexico. ORIGAMI IN THE GARDEN is also a love story and a journey of spiritual transformation that evolves through their relationship with an extraordinary metal foundry in Thailand. Kevin also collaborates with Master origami artists such as Robert J. Lang, Beth Johnson, and Michael LaFosse. Over 3 million people have visited their traveling exhibition titled “Origami in the Garden” and the word about BoxStudio is spreading fast. It’s truly amazing what these artists can do starting with a simple piece of paper!

Written, directed, produced, and edited by Barbara Bentree, ORIGAMI IN THE GARDEN was also produced and scored with original music by John Rangel. In addition to Kevin Box, other artists featured in the film are Jennifer Box, Robert J. Lang, Beth Johnson, Michael LaFosse, and Richard Alexander.

Freestyle Digital Media negotiated the deal to acquire ORIGAMI IN THE GARDEN directly with Glen Reynolds of Circus Road Films.
