Doug Liman will direct Tom Cruise in outer space for their new film

Earlier this month came the news that Tom Cruise was working with NASA and SpaceX to film a movie on the International Space Station.

We now know a little more as Deadline is reporting that Doug Liman (Mr. & Mrs. Smith, The Bourne Identity, Go, Swingers) will be directing the film. Liman and Cruise previously worked together on American Made and Edge of Tomorrow (or Live Die Repeat).

It seems that this was the plan all along as Liman and Cruise put the whole idea together and Liman wrote the first draft of the screenplay and will be producing along with Cruise.

There is still no word on what the plot of the film will be, but the fact that Liman is involved does please me.

What are your thoughts about Cruise heading into space?
