E.1027 – Eileen Gray and The House by The Sea – The new documentary gets a release date

E.1027 – Eileen Gray and The House by The Sea is a cinematic journey into the mind of pioneering Irish architect Eileen Gray (1878–1976) and the dramatic story of her breathtaking modernist villa, E.1027. Built in the 1920s on the French Riviera, this architectural masterpiece became the obsession of Le Corbusier.

Filmed on location, this hybrid documentary explores Gray’s revolutionary fusion of architecture, interiors, and furniture design while also examining the struggle for female artistic expression in a male-dominated field.

The film will be released in UK & Irish cinemas on 16 May 2025 by Modern Films, following its World Premiere at CPH:DOX 2024 and Irish Premiere at the Dublin International Film Festival 2025.
