NYCC 2022: Supernatural’s Jensen Ackles and The Winchesters cast & crew talk about the new show

At New York Comic Con 2022, I had the chance to speak with the cast and creators of the new Supernatural spin-off show, The Winchesters!

Before Sam and Dean, there were their parents’ John and Mary. Told from the perspective of narrator Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles), THE WINCHESTERS is the epic, untold love story of how John Winchester (Drake Rodger) met Mary Campbell and put it all on the line to not only save their love, but the entire world.

First up, Jensen Ackles (Dean Winchester) and his wife Daneel Ackles (One Tree Hill, Supernatural) discuss their roles as producers of The Winchesters, how the show was created, and much more.

Next, we meet young stars Meg Donnelly (Disney’s Zombies, American Housewife) and Drake Rodger as they talk about playing young John and Mary Winchester.

Finally, showrunner and writer Robbie Thompson (also an accomplished Marvel Comics writer) discusses the show, its story, and what they are making sure to get right in the new series.
