There is a Days Gone movie adaptation in the works

Days Gone is the 2019 video game that saw you ride around the post-pandemic Pacific North West of America on a motorbike while taking our huge zombie hordes. I played it through last year…or the year before – time is so fuzzy- and I loved it. It looked gorgeous, had some cool mechanics and got very creepy at times. Sam Witwer was great in the lead role of Deacon St. John and his friendship with Boozer was a highlight of the story. It is a shame Witwer isn’t being cast for the live-action version.

Ride and fight into a deadly, post-pandemic America. Play as Deacon St. John, a drifter and bounty hunter who rides the broken road, fighting to survive while searching for a reason to live in this open-world action-adventure game.

The game is now heading to the big screen with a new adaptation in the works from Sony PlayStation Productions. Outlander‘s Sam Heughan is circling the lead role according to Deadline, and Oscar-nominated writer Sheldon Turner is adapting.

Turner’s script will be “a love ballad to motorcycle movies — the bike being Deacon’s sole form of transportation, his horse in this would-be modern-day western.”

There is a huge amount of potential for a great movie as long as they go all in and have Deacon go up against hordes of zombies!

Heughan stars as Jamie Fraser on Starz’s Outlander. He is cast in the upcoming Liman Everest movie and Jim Strouse’s It’s All Coming Back to Me. Heughan’s feature credits include the Kate McKinnon-Mila Kunis comedy The Spy Who Dumped Me and Vin Diesel’s Bloodshot.

Jennifer Klein and Turner are producing through their production company, Vendetta Productions. Asad Qizilbash and Carter Swan are producing for Sony PlayStation Productions.
