Anthony Mackie will pick up the Shield once more for Captain America 4

The Marvel show The Falcon and The Winter Soldier saw Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson/Falcon finally accept the role of Captain America.

Following on from that he has made a deal to be the lead in the fourth Captain America movie.

This being Marvel there are no plot details at the moment and no word as to whether Sebastian Stan’s Winter Soldier will return. However, I see that being very likely and there are a number of plot lines they could follow on from the TV show. Although who knows what the MCU will look like now that the Multiverse has been unleashed.

Mackie played Falcon in six Marvel films beginning with Captain America: The Winter Soldier and it is great that he will now be the lead in an MCU movie.

There is no director attached at the moment, but Deadline reports that Captain America 4 is being scripted by The Falcon and the Winter Soldier head writer and creator Malcolm Spellman, along with series staff writer Dalan Musson.
