Oscar Isaac to play Solid Snake in the Metal Gear movie

Oscar Isaac (The Force Awakens, Dune, Moon Knight) is set to play Solid Snake in the live-action Metal Gear movie for Sony.

The film adaptation currently has this as the logline:

An advanced tank is stolen by a terrorist group and an elite soldier, Solid Snake, is dispatched to retrieve it.

That does sound like the plot of the very first Metal Gear game that debuted way back in 1987 and it was one of the first stealth games.

Jordan Vogt-Roberts (The Kings of Summer, Kong: Skull Island) is directing the film.

Variety had the news and also mentioned that Isaac expressed interest in playing the character during a 2019 interview.

I am very intrigued by this one. Isaac is a great actor and the Metal Gear games are great but do go in some strange directions. Hopefully, this first film will be a success so we can see how the story develops on the big screen.
