A Lifelong Fan’s Guide To The Best Star Wars Attractions At Galaxy’s Edge

Ever since the first film in 1977, the Star Wars franchise has been growing year after year. The original films proved to be so popular that prequels were introduced in the late nineties. If that wasn’t enough, the saga returned yet again in 2015 with The Force Awakens.

Fans of the original films have got to experience brand new characters and epic lightsaber fights over the years as more movies have been released to join the franchise. While many lifelong fans, and new, agree that Episode I is not one of the best in the franchise, there is still one of the best lightsaber fight sequences between Qui-Gon Jinn, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Darth Maul in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace.

Over the years, the popular franchise has continued to release films, merchandise, and comic books for the legion of adult fans who grew up with Star Wars. It’s hard to deny the impact Star Wars has had on popular culture, and it could be argued that the franchise has raised the popularity of everything sci-fi quite significantly, particularly when it comes to gaming. There have been many sci-fi video games for fans to add to their collection, including of course official Star Wars releases, and space-themed titles are also popular at slot gaming sites like Slot Boss with adult players, taking inspiration from this genre too.

Later on down the line, fans who grew up with the original films in the 70s and 80s got to see their childhood dreams come true as Disney created a whole new theme park dedicated to the franchise.

At Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge joins the wide catalogue of attractions at the park. It’s a must-have experience for lifelong Star Wars fans, whether they’re on the light or the dark side. The park has many great rides and workshops to fully immerse grown up fans into the Star Wars universe. The park’s realistic environment has been praised by many over the world and, according to Inside The Magic, the Oga’s Cantina bar has also been named as one of America’s best bars to visit.

Black Spire Outpost

You might want to start here, a place to buy your Star Wars-themed souvenirs. If you have been a fan since the 70s originals, you probably have quite the Star Wars memorabilia collection by now. Visiting Galaxy’s Edge, you might want to remember your moment there with a visit to the Black Spire Outpost. It’s an exciting place to buy unique artefacts, apparel and much more. Even if you don’t buy anything, you’ll love looking at all of the Star Wars-inspired loot.

Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run

If you remember first seeing the Millennium Falcon on screen as a child, then you’ll remember what a thrilling experience it was! Now that you’re older, why not take your turn in the pilot’s seat? At Galaxy’s Edge, with the Millenium Falcon: Smugglers Run attraction, lifelong Star Wars fans can experience a thrilling interactive smuggling mission and pilot the fastest ship in the galaxy. Although Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018) might be ranked quite low on the list of Star Wars movies ranked worst to best, fans of Han Solo and the iconic Millennium Falcon can have their moment at Galaxy’s Edge.

Rise of the Resistance

If you’re old enough to remember watching the very first Star Wars film at the cinema, then you’ll recall the tense secret mission on the Death Star when Luke and Han dressed as stormtroopers to rescue Leia. Princess Leia was right, Luke was too short for a stormtrooper!

At Galaxy’s Edge, Rise of the Resistance is an e-ticket attraction where participants can go on their own secret mission against the First Order. The attraction is best suited to those who can handle darkness, loud noises, and small drops during the ride. Fans get to participate in an interactive way as you help recruit players for a secret mission to fight against the dark side. You’ll find yourself in the middle of a battle between the First Order and the Resistance and may even come face to face in a fight against Kylo Ren. This is the only attraction of its kind and you won’t want to miss it.

Savi’s Workshop

For many Star Wars, owning their perfect lightsaber has been a lifelong dream, and now they can actually build it! If you want to finally get your hands on your own Jedi weapon of choice, then a visit to Savi’s Workshop should be at the top of your must do’s list!

Using an eclectic mix of pieces collected from all over the galaxy, you’ll put together your own lightsaber and power it up using kyber crystals. Choose from four different themes – peace and justice, power and control, elemental nature or protection and defence. Purchase is required, and when you leave, remember to keep this secret workshop to yourself!

Droid Depot

Star Wars fans who grew up with the original films will remember just how cool and quirky R2-D2 and C-3PO were when they appeared on screen at the very beginning of the franchise. Luke was quite good at fixing droid units, so why not see how good you are?

At the Droid Depot, you can use chips, manuals, and other parts to put together your very own droid. Choose from a BB-series unit or R-series unit and use the blueprint to get started. Then you can customize your unit, then pair it with a remote control so you can operate its flight path on your own. Just like at Savi’s Workshop, purchase is required.
