"No matter where you go, there you are."

Check out Timothée Chalamet and Josh Brolin in new Dune image

Denis Villeneuve’s adaptation of Frank Herbert’s Dune draws ever closer and Empire had this new image that shows Paul Atreides (Timothée Chalamet) and Gurney Halleck (Josh Brolin) on the wing of an ornithopter as it flys over the desert planet of Arrakis.

Villeneuve said of this scene that “it’s Paul’s first contact with the deep desert, where he’s mesmerised by it. He has a strange feeling of being home. There’s a lot of action at this specific moment, and [it’s] one of the scenes in the movie that I’m starting to get pretty proud of.”

Hopefully, we will be getting a trailer soon.

A mythic and emotionally charged hero’s journey, “Dune” tells the story of Paul Atreides, a brilliant and gifted young man born into a great destiny beyond his understanding, who must travel to the most dangerous planet in the universe to ensure the future of his family and his people. As malevolent forces explode into conflict over the planet’s exclusive supply of the most precious resource in existence—a commodity capable of unlocking humanity’s greatest potential—only those who can conquer their fear will survive.

So far the film has got an incredible cast and we saw many of them in photos released a while back:

  • Timothée Chalamet – Paul Atreides
  • Rebecca Ferguson – Lady Jessica
  • Oscar Isaac – Duke Leto Atreides
  • Josh Brolin – Gurney Halleck
  • Chang Chen – Dr Yueh
  • Jason Momoa – Duncan Idaho
  • Charlotte Rampling – Reverend Mother Mohiam
  • Zendaya – Chani
  • Javier Bardem – Stilgar
  • Dave Bautista – Glossu ‘Beast’ Rabban
  • Stellan Skarsgård – Baron Harkonnen

Dune is currently still set to open this December.
