Battlestar Galactica

Jay Basu has been tapped to rewrite the screenplay for Battlestar Galactica, Universal Pictures’ reimagining of the 1978 television series created by Glen Larson. An earlier draft of the script was written by Lisa Joy (“Westworld”). Francis Lawrence (“Red Sparrow,” “The Hunger Games” series) will direct the film – The Wrap


A Naked Singularity

John Boyega is in negotiations to star in A Naked Singularity. Chase Palmer will direct the film, which is based on a 2008 novel by Sergio De La Pava. Lady and The Tramp

Disney’s live-action version of Lady and The Tramp will actually use real dogs for the film. Thomas Mann spoke to Collider about acting with the dogs.

The dogs were there. We shot with the dogs, every day. They were on set and they weren’t even trained. They found these dogs and started training them about three months before. They just wanted to find the perfect dogs.


The Six Million Dollar Man

The Six Million Dollar Man is getting a new comic, which is launching next year from Dynamite Entertainment. Written by Christopher Hastings with art by David Hahn, the new series sees Steve Austin sent on a mission to Japan, where he has to team up with secret agent Niko Abe on a mission that might be his last, when his cybernetic enhancements start malfunctioning just as the KGB and a bunch of samurai show up – THR


The Man Who Killed Don Quixote

Terry Gilliam’s The Man Who Killed Don Quixote is finally getting a US release. Screen Media has picked up the North American rights to the film, starring Adam Driver, Jonathan Pryce, Stellan Skarsgard, Olga Kurylenko, and Jordi Molla. The company, in partnership with Fathom Events, is planning a national theatrical release for March 2019 – IndieWire


Blackout

Rami Malek will lend his voice to a new thriller podcast from Endeavor Audio. The Mr. Robot actor will star in and produce Blackout, an eight-episode suspense story about a small-town radio DJ who must fight to protect his family and community from a coordinated attack that destroys the power grid and upends modern civilization. Blackout comes from creator and producer Scott Conroy, whose feature script Analytica was named to the 2018 Black List – THR


Stargirl

Henry Thomas (E.T., The Haunting of Hill House) has joined the DC Universe live action Stargirl series in the recurring guest-star role of Golden Age Dr. Mid-Nite. Community‘s Joel McHale will play Golden Age Starman/Sylvester Pemberton and S.W.A.T.‘s Lou Ferrigno Jr. was cast as Golden Age HourmanEW
