Arnold Schwarzenegger joins Michael Fassbender in the feature-length Kung Fury sequel

Bloom has announced that Arnold Schwarzenegger will join Michael Fassbender in David Sandberg’s action-comedy, Kung Fury, a feature-length sequel to the short film of the same name.

Schwarzenegger will play the American president in the film. David Hasselhoff, who appeared in the original short film, will also return for the sequel. Production on the feature will begin this summer.

It’s 1985, the best year ever. Miami is kept safe under the watchful eye of Kung Fury, the greatest damn cop of all time. Kung Fury’s Thundercops are the ultimate police force assembled from across history to defeat the villainous Kung Fuhrer, Adolf Hitler. After the tragic death of a Thundercop causes the group to disband, a mysterious villain emerges from the shadows to aid in the Fuhrer’s quest to attain the ultimate weapon. Kung Fury must travel through space and time itself to save his friends, defend the prestigious Miami Kung Fu Academy, and defeat evil once and for all.

David Katzenberg, Seth Grahame-Smith and Aaron Schmidt will produce under their KatzSmith Productions banner along with Philip Westgren of B-Reel Films and Conor McCaughan. Pelle Strandberg will executive produce on behalf of Laser Unicorns. BLOOM will handle international sales and introduce the film to buyers at the Berlin Film Festival. Endeavor Content and CAA will handle North American sales.
