- The top image shows Faye Marsay, Lucy Punch, and David Tennant in You, Me and Him. – We meet lesbian couple Olivia and Alex (Lucy Punch, Faye Marsay) who, despite their age difference, are very much in love. But as the question of pregnancy rears its head and their neighbour John (David Tennant) befriends them, they both start making some truly disastrous decisions.
- Jonathan Frakes – Commander William T. Riker on Star Trek: The Next Generation and in subsequent films – is set to direct an episode of the upcoming Star Trek: Discovery – EW
- Gwendoline Christie has joined Steve Carell in the untitled Robert Zemeckis project, based on Jeff Malmberg’s 2010 documentary Marwencol. Diane Kruger, Leslie Mann and Janelle Monae are also starring in the movie. Carell will star as a man who builds a miniature World War II village as a way to recover from a violent assault. Christie will be his caretaker in the story of one broken man’s fight as he discovers how artistic imagination can restore the human spirit – Variety
- Troy Duffy (The Boondock Saints) is set to direct the thriller The Blood Spoon Council. The film follows a vigilante group, known as the Blood Spoon Council, who are hunting down and executing serial killers in the U.S. The FBI commissions a young, rogue profiler to get into the head of the group’s elusive leader. But their investigation is derailed when the whiz kid engages in a secret game of cat-and-mouse with a mastermind the likes of which he’s never seen.
- The young boy saved by Iron Man at the Stark Expo in 2010’s Iron Man 2 has been revealed to be Peter Parker. Tom Holland confirmed the news and it is a nice piece of retconning.
- It seems that there will be a sequel to Ben Affleck’s The Accountant.
- Neil Marshall has said they will be focussing on practical effects for the new Hellboy movie. “It’s definitely going to be as practical as we can possibly make it. I love to do stuff in camera whenever I possibly can, and use CG as the amazing tool that it is, to enhance or expand upon the world, but not to use it to replace reality, when you can do it [for] real.” – Post Mortem
- Syfy have picked up the pilot for the Tremors TV show, which also sees Kevin Bacon returning – Screen Daily
- Director Matt Reeves has been talking about how they are approaching The Batman movie – “There’s a chance to do an almost noir driven, detective version of Batman that is point-of-view driven in a very very powerful way, that will hopefully connect you to what’s going on inside of his head and inside of his heart,” said Reeves to New Trailer Buzz. I hope they stick with that as we very rarely get the Dark Knight Detective doing any detective work.
- Ansel Elgort (Baby Driver) will play John F. Kennedy in the drama Mayday 109, based on the 1943 sinking of Kennedy’s PT boat during World War II – Variety
- Michelle Rodriguez may not return for future Fast and Furious films unless they give the female characters meatier roles.
