It’s official – David Fincher will direct Brad Pitt in the World War Z sequel
It had been rumoured back in April, but now head of Paramount Pictures, Jim Gianopulos has confirmed to THR that David Fincher will be directing the World War Z sequel with Brad Pitt starring.
This will be their fourth film working together. They previously made Se7en (1995), Fight Club (1999) and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (2008). I cannot wait to see what they do with a zombie film.
The project is now in “advanced development,” but what that means exactly isn’t clear. Steven Knight had been writing the script for the sequel and had said that it “starts with a clean slate,” but no other plot details have been released. The beauty of the Max Brooks book on which the film was based is that each chapter was a fresh look at the zombie apocalypse from different characters from around the world.
Who knows where they will go with the sequel and even if they are using any of the previous scripts. I just hope it gets an R rating.
How do you feel about Fincher and Pitt working together on a zombie movie?
