The Muppet Show returns with a trailer for the new special

In “The Muppet Show” Kermit, Miss Piggy and the beloved Muppet gang are back with a brand-new special event. Music, comedy, and a whole lot of chaos are bound to ensue when The Muppets once again take the stage of the original Muppet Theatre with their very special guest, Sabrina Carpenter!

“The Muppet Show” special which serves as a backdoor pilot for a reboot of the original series is produced by The Muppets Studio, 20th Television and Point Grey Pictures trought Disney Branded Television is directed by Alex Timbers. Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, Sabrina Carpenter, Albertina Rizzo, Matt Vogel and Eric Jacobson serve as executive producers.

“The Muppet Show” is part of Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg’s overall deal with Disney Entertaiment across films and television, their other projects include a “Darkwing Duck” reboot/sequel series at Disney Television Animation for Disney+, a “Figment” live-action/animation hybrid film with Walt Disney Studios”, “Chippendales” for 20th Century Studios and a “TaleSpin” reboot in the mapping process at Disney Television Animation.

The return of the Muppets coincides with the show’s 50th anniversary later in 2026.

Premiering on Disney+ and ABC on 4th February 2026.
