GODZILLA MINUS ZERO, the eagerly anticipated follow-up to director/screenwriter Takashi Yamazaki’s Academy Award® winning Godzilla Minus One, will release exclusively in cinemas across the United Kingdom and Ireland from Friday 6th November, with IMAX previews from Wednesday 3rd November.

Details are still under wraps about GODZILLA MINUS ZERO, the first-ever Japanese production and first-ever Toho produced Godzilla film to be Filmed For IMAX®. Takashi Yamazaki returns as director, screenwriter, and VFX supervisor following the enormous success of 2023’s Godzilla Minus One, which became Anime Limited’s highest grossing film to date, earning over £2.6M at the UK & IRE box office.

War reduced Japan to zero, and Godzilla plunged it into minus. Two years have passed since then, and the country has faced agonizing struggles to achieve recovery and finally reclaim its daily life. Just as humanity managed to cling to a hard-won peace, a new threat strikes, crushing hope in an instant. There is no third time. Everything ends here.

Ryunosuke Kamiki, the hero who faced Godzilla’s terror in Godzilla Minus One, returns as Koichi Shikishima, and is joined by Minami Hamabe as Noriko Oishi, who miraculously survived Godzilla’s first attack on Tokyo.

Godzilla Minus One was a global phenomenon, earning acclaim from critics and the highest box office of a Japan-produced Godzilla film worldwide. The film went on to win Best Visual Effects at the 96th Academy Awards®, becoming the first Asian film to take home the award.

Now part of the TOHO Global family, Anime Limited are joining a worldwide collaboration set to make franchise history, with GODZILLA MINUS ZERO being the first Japan-produced film in the historic franchise to be released near-simultaneously in Japan, the United Kingdom, Ireland, and North America. The film’s release in Japan on 3rd November commemorates “Godzilla Day”, celebrating the anniversary of the original film’s release in 1954, before cinema’s biggest kaiju stomps across cities in the United Kingdom, Ireland, and beyond.

GODZILLA MINUS ZERO releases in IMAX and cinemas in Japanese with English subtitles from Friday 6th November.
