The Lost Weekend: A Love Story – Watch the trailer for the new John Lennon documentary

Kaleidoscope Home Entertainment has announced that their upcoming documentary, The Lost Weekend: A Love Story will Premiere Exclusively on the Icon Film Channel from 20th November. The film will then be available on DVD, Blu-ray & Digital from 18th December.

A story that will resonate deeply with anyone captivated by the magic of John Lennon and the complexities of human relationships, The Lost Weekend: A Love Story explores the romantic relationship between John Lennon and his assistant-turned-lover May Pang, a naïve 23-year-old experiencing her first unforgettable love.

A brand new, official John Lennon documentary, featuring amazing, never-seen-before archival footage, and exclusive interviews with a huge list of global superstars including Elton John, Alice Cooper, Mick Jagger and Paul McCartney.

An incredible story that has taken 50 years to tell – May Pang shares details of her 18-month love affair (1973-1975) with Lennon, a relationship orchestrated by Yoko Ono herself.

A fascinating insight into a lesser-known chapter in Lennon’s life and the relationship that shaped a prolific period for Lennon post-Beatles, a time which included the hit albums ‘Mind Games’, ‘Walls and Bridges’ (which included his only #1 hit single), and collaborations with David Bowie, Elton John, Harry Nilsson, Mick Jagger and Ringo.

Speaking about the film May Pang said “For nearly fifty years, I’ve read and heard many authors, experts, “friends” and acquaintances recount my life — few of whom were actually there! For the most part, their recollections are skewed at best; my story has become part of a myth created by Yoko and John for public consumption. A lot of people think my time with John, known as Lennon’s “Lost Weekend,” was literally just a crazy weekend in Los Angeles. Others know John and I were officially together for a year and half and made a life together and loved each other. Few realize that our relationship lasted from 1970 until the day he died. I felt the world needed to know the truth and I needed to tell it! My life story happens to correspond with the most prolific, successful and interesting period of John Lennon’s solo career. This feature documentary gives you a glimpse into our private life and takes you on a journey through my eyes.”

The Lost Weekend: A Love Story will premiere on the Icon Film Channel from 20th November and available on Blu-ray, DVD & Digital Download from 18th December.
