Shoplifters of the World – Watch the trailer for the new film inspired by the music of The Smiths

SHOPLIFTERS OF THE WORLD is a film inspired by true events, set over the course of one night in the life of four friends that are reeling from the sudden dissolution of iconic British band The Smiths, while the local radio station is hijacked by an impassioned Smiths fan with a gun. What follows is a hell of a night … and a glorious hymn to the craziness of the ’80s.

Directed by Stephen Kijak (Scott Walker: 30 Century Man, Stones in Exile, We Are X, If I Leave Here Tomorrow: A Film About Lynyrd Skynyrd), the film stars Ellar Coltrane, Helena Howard, Joe Manganiello, Elena Kampouris, Nick Krause, James Bloor, and Thomas Lennon.

It opens in US cinemas and VOD on 26th March 2021.
