NYCC 2019: Todd McFarlane talks Spawn, Joker, making movies and breaking records

At the 2019 New York Comic Con, I sat down with just a handful of other journalists to interview Todd McFarlane, legendary comic book artist and creator of Spawn. You might remember the Spawn movie from the ’90s, and Todd has a new and much darker version planned to hit theaters in the near future.

We had the entire room to ourselves, and Todd turns every answer into a story and a motivational speech — in the best possible way. He’s completely captivating.
