His wife, Susan L. Oberg, shared the news:

On Saturday, September 21, 2019, my light, my heart, my true love, my King, the other half of my soul, Sidney, passed from this realm on to the next. He has returned to the Universe, a shining star in her heavens. He was my angel, my husband, my best friend and always will be. He adored his family, his friends and his fans. This came as a shock to all of us. We, as a family, are asking that our privacy and time to mourn be respected.

Sidney Eddie Mosesian 7/14/39 – 9/21/19 Husband, Father, Grandfather, Friend. Goodnight, my love. We will find each other again, next time. I love you.

Many of you will know him as the iconic Captain Spaulding in Rob Zombie’s House of 1000 Corpses, The Devil’s Rejects and 3 From Hell, but he has had a very long career in acting.

He starred in the films THX 1138, Diamonds Are Forever, Coffy, Foxy Brown, Jackie Brown, Kill Bill: Volume 2, Bone Tomahawk and many more. He also appeared in numerous TV shows, including Batman, Star Trek, Mission: Impossible, Gunsmoke, The Rockford Files, Electra Woman and Dyna Girl, Buck Rogers in the 25th Century, Get Smart, Fantasy Island, Sledge Hammer!, The A-Team, The Fall Guy, The Dukes of Hazzard, Just the Ten of Us and MacGyver.

He retired from acting back in 1992 as he felt he was being typecast. However, in 2003 Haig starred in Rob Zombie’s debut film House of 1000 Corpses as Captain Spaulding and the rest is history.

A great actor and it will be sad to no longer see him on the big screen.
