Tasting Cinema Film Club – A new immersive film club
The latest immersive film club on the block invites you to taste what you see. Presented by What’s On The Red Carpet who run film themed nights, and red carpet cinema events across London, ‘The Tasting Cinema Film Club’ gives fans a taste of canapés / mini plates and drinks inspired by films.
Each event will take place in different, secret and unusual or hidden locations around London (details are sent to ticket holders 3 weeks before the screening).
As unusual venues go, an apartment at the top of St Pancras Clocktower is pretty special. After being cordially ushered up the grand building by the concierge, we gathered in the apartment kitchen where we met our hostess Estelle, and chef George (aka Taste of George, renowned private chef). Once warmly greeted and refreshed with drinks, we went through to the living room replete with high ceilings, a small library.
The opening night was filled with canapes from Nora Ephron’s charming, bittersweet comedy-drama Julie&Julia. We ate bruschetta, a veggie take on Boeuf Bourguignon and a Bavarian Raspberry Cream – dishes all made, and consumed with gusto in the film.
It’s a film that celebrates two women, at two different times living, loving and tasting life to the full: a great choice for watching in a cosy environment with good food and friendly company.
