Powers Boothe has passed away

I was away from my computer for most of the weekend so only saw this sad news this morning. Powers Boothe died yesterday in his sleep at his home in Los Angeles. He was 68.

His friend, actor Beau Bridges, tweeted the news Sunday afternoon:

Boothe was always a favourite of mine. You always knew he was going to be great. Some of his most notable roles include his Emmy-winning portrayal of Jim Jones in Guyana Tragedy: The Story of Jim Jones and his turns as TV detective Philip Marlowe in the 1980s, Hardin in Southern Comfort, Cy Tolliver on Deadwood, “Curly Bill” Brocious in Tombstone, Joshua Foss in Sudden Death, Senator Roark in the Sin City movies, Vice-President and subsequently President Noah Daniels on 24, Gideon Malick in The Avengers and ABC’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Lamar Wyatt in Nashville.

He is survived by his wife Pam and their two children, Parisse and Preston.

What is your favourite Powers Boothe role?
