Win tickets to see Dead Souls, the new film from Alex Cox

Powerhouse Films is bringing Dead Souls, the latest film from cult filmmaker Alex Cox (Repo Man, Sid and Nancy), to the big screen!

In 1890 – the year of the US census – chaos erupts when a mysterious drifter named Strindler (Cox) arrives in a town in Arizona and offers money to anyone who can provide the names of dead Mexican labourers. But, between the town drunk, hot-headed cowhands, and local outlaws, Strindler soon becomes tangled up in his own tall tales…

A loose adaptation of Nikolai Gogol’s 1842 novel, Dead Souls is co-written by spaghetti Western legend Gianni Garko (If You Meet Sartana Pray for Your Death) and features a fantastical animated sequence created by visual effects maestro Phil Tippett (Mad God).

Alex Cox is moseying into Bristol, Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool and London for a series of special screenings, each followed by a Q&A with the cult film icon himself, who had this to say:

“I am excited in the extreme at the thought of visiting five great independent English cinemas and showing my latest effort, Dead Souls. This should be a ton of fun. And with a bit of luck, it isn’t My Last Movie!”

Tickets are on sale now:

• Wednesday 4 November – Bristol, CUBE
• Thursday 5 November – Birmingham, MAC
• Friday 6 November – Manchester, HOME
