Willem Dafoe is The Souffleur in the trailer for the new dark comedy

Lucius Glantz is the longtime manager of Vienna’s iconic InterContinental Hotel, whose life spirals into absurd paranoia when he learns the property is being sold to an Argentine developer with plans to demolish it. As Lucius wages a quiet but obsessive vendetta against the new owner, his unraveling begins to infect the world around him—the hotel’s pipes clog, clocks spin out of sync, and his once-perfect soufflés mysteriously refuse to rise.

Directed by Gastón Solnicki, the film stars Willem Dafoe, Lilly Lindner, Stephanie Argerich, Claus Philipp and Gastón Solnicki.

The Souffleur has its World Premiere at the Venice Film Festival on Sunday.
