Bloodshot – Check out an Origins featurette and two clips from the new Vin Diesel movie

Bloodshot is the film adaptation of the excellent Valiant comic. The movie stars Vin Diesel, and it is due out tomorrow in cinemas across UK and Ireland.

To be honest, I was a bit surprised to hear it was out tomorrow. I’ve posted trailers for it in the past, but since then it had all been a bit quiet and I’d not heard of any press screenings. That usually does not bode well and I must admit that previous trailers have made it look like a generic comic book movie from the 90s, but with slightly better CGI. I feel that Diesel may have been the wrong choice for the role, but he does have a great supporting cast. I really hope I am wrong as the comic book is great and I do like the character.

Oh and if Hollywood is looking for more comic book characters that were brought back from the dead using nanotechnology can we get a Xombi movie please? That was a brilliant DC Milestone comic that was very weird.

Based on the bestselling comic book, Ray Garrison (Vin Diesel) is an elite soldier recently killed in action, brought back to life as the superhero Bloodshot by the RST corporation. With an army of nanotechnology in his veins he’s an unstoppable force – the strongest warrior the corporation has ever created – and able to heal instantly. But in upgrading his body, the company is also manipulating his mind and memories. As he begins to remember his past life, Ray isn’t sure what’s real and what’s not – but he’s determined to take back control.

You can watch the featurette below which gives you more info on the character and his origins. Then there are also a couple of clips to watch. Share your thoughts in the comments below.

Directed by David S. F. Wilson and starring Vin Diesel, Eiza González, Sam Heughan, Toby Kebbell and Guy Pearce.
