Michelle Yeoh joins Karen Gillan, Lena Headey and Angela Bassett in Gunpowder Milkshake

STUDIOCANAL and The Picture Company today announced that Michelle Yeoh has joined the cast of Gunpowder Milkshake in a key role cementing an already stellar cast.

International star Yeoh who recently signed on to the AVATAR sequel and most recently starred in the worldwide sensation CRAZY RICH ASIANS and STAR TREK: DISCOVERY is known for her work on the acclaimed films CROUCHING TIGER, HIDDEN DRAGON and MEMOIRS OF A GEISHA. She has also appeared in James Bond film, TOMORROW NEVER DIES.

She is represented by her Manager David Unger of Artist International.

GUNPOWDER MILKSHAKE is a female-driven high-concept assassin film that has a rich mythology and spans multiple generations.

She joins Karen Gillan (Avengers: Endgame, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, Guardians of the Galaxy), Lena Headey (Game of Thrones, 300) 9-1-1 and Black Panther star Angela Bassett and Paul Giamatti (Billions, Straight Outta Compton, Sideways).

Written and Directed by Navot Papushado (Big Bad Wolves), GUNPOWDER MILKSHAKE will shoot at the Babelsberg Film Studio, Germany with principal photography commencing June 3. Ehud Lavski has co-written the script. STUDIOCANAL and The Picture Company partners Andrew Rona & Alex Heineman produce. Aharon Keshales (Big Bad Wolves) will Executive Produce.

Production has assembled a first-class crew to include DP Michael Seresin, best known for several collaborations with Alan Parker in addition to Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and War for the Planet of the Apes, Costume Designer Louise Frogley (Spider-Man: Homecoming, Ant-Man and the Wasp) and Production Designer David Scheunemann (Deadpool 2, Atomic Blonde).

STUDIOCANAL will release the film in their own territories: the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Germany and France – selling the rest of the world.

The Picture Company has an overall deal with STUDIOCANAL. Both companies see franchise potential in the film.
