"No matter where you go, there you are."

The Ni No Kuni animated film gets a trailer

Ni no Kuni is a series of role-playing video games developed by Level-5. The animated sequences for Dominion of the Dark Djinn and Wrath of the White Witch were produced by Studio Ghibli, and the original score was composed by Joe Hisaishi and Rei Kondoh. The artwork was also greatly inspired by Studio Ghibli’s other productions.

While Studio Ghibli was not involved in the new animated movie, it is directed by Yoshiyuki Momose who is a former Studio Ghibli animator.

The film follows Yu and his best friend Haru who travel between Ni no Kuni and the real world after a certain incident that occurred involving their childhood friend named Kotona. However, all three face their own danger in the other world, and the “ultimate choice” must be made for them and the world of Ni no Kuni.

I have never played any of the games, but the film does look gorgeous.

Check out the trailer below.
