Pedro Pascal will probably be The Mandalorian in the new Star Wars TV show

Jon Favreau is working on a Star Wars TV show called The Mandalorian. It looks like Pedro Pascal (Game of Thrones, Narcos) will be playing the lead character as Variety is reporting that he has been offered the role and final negotiations are underway. I am very happy with Pascal being cast. He is a great actor who should be able to do great things with the role.

After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.

Dave Filoni (Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels) is directing the first episode. Additional episodes will be directed by Deborah Chow (Jessica Jones), Rick Famuyiwa (Dope), Bryce Dallas Howard , and Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok). The Mandalorian will be executive produced by Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, Kathleen Kennedy, and Colin Wilson. Karen Gilchrist will serve as co-executive producer.

The 10-episode first season will reportedly have a combined budget of $100 million.
