Miss Bala was a 2011 Mexican drama film. It has now been remade with Catherine Hardwicke (Lords of Dogtown, Twilight) behind the camera. The new version stars Gina Rodriguez, Ismael Cruz Cordova, Anthony Mackie, Matt Lauria, Cristina Rodlo, and Aislinn Derbez.

Gloria (Gina Rodriguez) finds a power she never knew she had when she is drawn into a dangerous world of cross-border crime. Surviving will require all of her cunning, inventiveness, and strength.

The film hits UK cinemas on 8th February 2019.
