HBO has given a series order for Damon Lindelof’s (Lost, The Leftovers) Watchmen TV show based on Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons’ classic Watchmen graphic novel. Lindelof has said it will be a remix of the original comic!

Set in an alternate history where “superheroes” are treated as outlaws, WATCHMEN embraces the nostalgia of the original groundbreaking graphic novel while attempting to break new ground of its own.

Damon Lindelof has revealed that he wanted Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross to compose music for the show. When he spoke to HBO they told him Trent Reznor had already been in touch to see if he could do just that.

Therefore, the Watchmen TV show is going to sound like Nine Inch Nails, which is pretty cool. I still don’t know whether the show will be any good or not, but at least it should sound great!

The show stars Regina King (American Crime, The Leftovers), Don Johnson (Book Club, Django Unchained), Tim Blake Nelson (The Ballad of Buster Scruggs), Louis Gossett Jr. (An Officer and a Gentleman, The Reason), Adelaide Clemens (Rectify, Parade’s End), Andrew Howard (The Oath, The Brave), Frances Fisher (Masters of Sex), Jacob Ming-Trent (White Famous), Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (The Handmaid’s Tale), Sara Vickers (The Crown), and Tom Mison (Sleepy Hollow).

The show will debut at some point in 2019.
