Wellington Paranormal – Watch the trailer for Taika Waititi and Jemaine Clement’s TV show sequel to What We Do In The Shadows

Wellington Paranormal is a new television show created by Taika Waititi and Jemaine Clement.

It is a spin-off from the excellent 2014 horror comedy film What We Do In The Shadows that followed vampire housemates (Jemaine Clement, Taika Waititi, Jonathan Brugh) as they try to cope with the complexities of modern life in Wellington.

The new show will follow police unit members Mike Minogue and Karen O’Leary as they hunt out ghosts, werewolves and demonic possessions. The pair is under the watchful eye of Sergeant Maaka Pohatu, who performs in Modern Māori Quartet during the day. Cori Gonzalez-Macuer’s Nick from the original film is also set to feature in the TV show. Clement and Waititi expected to reprise their roles as Vladislav and Viago, respectively.

The new series will consist of six 30-minute episodes. They will air on TVNZ 2 in New Zealand and begins on 11th July. Hopefully it will make its way to the UK shortly after.

Meanwhile, FX has ordered the first season of What We Do in the Shadows, a half-hour comedy series based on the feature film of the same name by co-creators Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi, it was announced by Nick Grad and Eric Schrier, Presidents of Original Programming for FX Networks and FX Productions. The 10-episode first season will air on FX in the Spring of 2019.

This new show is set in New York and stars Matt Berry, Kayvan Novak, Natasia Demetriou, and Harvey Guillen.
