The Bad Boys TV show gets a new title

We are still waiting for movement on a new Bad Boys film, but the Bad Boys spin-off TV show is moving ahead.

The series follows Syd Burnett, (Gabrielle Union), who featured in Bad Boys II and was the sister of one Marcus (Martin Lawrence), as she moves from Miami to Los Angeles and joins the LAPD as a detective after leaving the DEA. Upon arrival, she is partnered with Nancy McKenna (Jessica Alba), a working mom who quickly becomes jealous of Syd’s more casual lifestyle after they begin working together.

John Salley will also return to reprise his role from the second film as Fletcher, a computer-hacking thick-glassed ex-con who helped Marcus and Mike Lowery (Will Smith) in the original films.

Deadline is reporting that the NBC show will be called L.A.’s Finest.

The pilot is written by Brandon Margolis and Brandon Sonnier and directed by Anton Cropper. The series will also be produced by the films’ producer Michael Bay and Sony Pictures TV.

It was originally going to be called Bad Girls, but NBC also has another drama called, Good Girls, so it didn’t seem to fit. However, will L.A.’s Finest work as a title or is it a little too bland?
