Superfly is a remake of the 1972 blaxsploitation film Super Fly.

Superfly – the film that helped define a genre in its characters, look, sound, and feel – is reimagined with Director X, director of legendary music videos (Drake, Rihanna), introducing it to a new generation.

This new version is directed by Director X from a screenplay by Alex Tse. The film stars Trevor Jackson, Jason Mitchell, Michael Kenneth Williams, Lex Scott Davis and Jennifer Morrison.

I do like the original 1972 film, which had an amazing soundtrack by Curtis Mayfield. So far this new version just looks like a music video. Hopefully other footage will give us a better idea of how the film will play out.
