Zachary Levi will be Shazam! Jeffrey Dean Morgan could be Batman

Shazam used to be called Captain Marvel, but as he was a DC Comics character that eventually got changed. He is the alter ego of Billy Batson, a boy who, by speaking the magic word “SHAZAM” (acronym of six “immortal elders”: Solomon, Hercules, Atlas, Zeus, Achilles, and Mercury), can transform himself into a costumed adult with the powers of superhuman strength, speed, flight, and other abilities.

It seems that Zachary Levi (Chuck, Thor: The Dark World, Thor: Ragnarok ) will be playing Earth’s mightiest mortal. I hadn’t considered Levi for the role, but I do like that decision. He should be great at playing the superhero who is actually a kid. No word on who will be playing Billy Batson, but I think Finn Wolfhard (Strange Things, It) could be a good choice for the role.

Filming will begin in January or February 2018 with a likely release in 2019. David Sandberg (Annabelle: Creation) is directing the film for Warner Bros.’s sister division, New Line.

Shazam! will be the next DC Cinematic Universe movie to film, ahead of the Flashpoint, Joss Whedon’s Batgirl and the Suicide Squad sequel

It is not clear whether Dwayne Johnson will play Black Adam in the Shazam movie. That character is one of the main villains for Shazam, but he is supposed to be getting his own movie at some point.

How do you feel about Zachary Levi playing Shazam?

Okay, but what about Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Batman? Well he played Thomas Wayne in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Lauren Cohan played Martha Wayne. Both star in The Walking Dead.

The Flash movie is going to be Flashpoint and in the comic book version of that story The Flash changed time and that altered many things. For the Batman side of things, it was Bruce who was killed in the alley and so his father becomes the Batman. His mother became….something else!

Therefore, there is a very real possibility that this could happen on the big screen.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan was on Jimmy Kimmel Live and was asked whether he would be playing Batmam. He doesn’t say anything, but check out his reaction in the video below.

I would be very happy to see him as the Thomas Wayne Batman. How about you?
