"No matter where you go, there you are."

Ace Ventura, Major League, Young Guns, and Nightbreed reboots are heading our way

Morgan Creek Productions is doing a rebrand and will become Morgan Creek Entertainment Group. To mark the occasion they will also be looking back at their library of films and bring new versions to television, features and digital.

That includes titles like Ace Ventura, Major League, Young Guns, Dead Ringers, Diabolique, Pacific Heights and Clive Barker’s Nightbreed.

The company has a library of over 60 feature titles, including 13 movies that debuted at No. 1 at the box office. “Morgan Creek’s globally recognized brand and premium titles are an ideal fit for the extraordinary creative revolution taking place in the television and digital worlds today, ” said MCEG president David Robinson.

They have already begun the process with The Exorcist TV show. They got the rights from Warner Bros. a while back and the new show is most enjoyable.

According to Deadline, talks are underway with a streaming service about a Young Guns movie and TV series. There also are discussions with a showrunner for a Dead Ringers series reboot.

I think turning some of these titles into TV shows is the way to go. Some will work, some won’t, but I would love to see a Nightbreed show.

I am not sure how Ace Ventura would work without Jim Carrey, but they would love to have him back. The current concept eyed for an Ace Ventura reboot is “a baton-handing,” said MCEG head of content Barbara Wall. That would mean a long lost son or daughter and that is all going to depend on the script and who they get to play the main character.

Cliver Barker has been involved in the pitch for a Nightbreed TV series, while David Cronenberg has been supportive of a Dead Ringers reimagining, Robinson and Wall said, stressing that it is a priority to get the blessing of the original creators for the reboots.

What are your thoughts on the news. Which film would like like to see renewed or turned into a TV show?
