"No matter where you go, there you are."

The Exorcist Season 2 is unleashed on Syfy UK tonight

Opening an entirely new chapter in the iconic franchise, Season Two of The Exorcist sees FATHER TOMAS ORTEGA (Alfonso Herrera) and a newly collarless MARCUS KEANE (Ben Daniels) out of Chicago and on the road, searching out evil. Across the Atlantic, FATHER BENNETT (Kurt Egyiawan) attempts to weed out those within the Vatican who have turned against God. Ultimately, Tomas and Marcus are led to ANDREW KIM (John Cho), a former child psychologist who runs a group home for five at-risk foster children on a secluded private island off the coast of Seattle. When one of the children under Andrew’s care is targeted by a powerful force, the two priests head west, setting themselves on a collision course with Hell.

Season 2 begins on Syfy UK at 9pm tonight.

I spoke to the cast at New York Comic Con 2017 and they all loved working on the show. Ben Daniels was particularly looking forward to episode 3, which was directed by Ti West (The Innkeepers). Daniels said it will be “phenomenal.”

John Cho (Star Trek), has joined the show for season 2 and he said he wasn’t a big horror fan, but that he was “interested in putting an Asian face in American horror because American horror has been very white and has trafficked in these WASP fantasies almost – white picket fences – and what it says to me is ‘This is America. This is the precious America and this is what is in peril.’ I liked messing with that with my face and thought it would be interesting, particularly since there is all this great horror out of Asia, but American horror remains very monochromatic.”

It is already playing on FOX in the US on Friday nights.
