Alex Garland’s Annihilation gets a teaser trailer

Oscar Isaac and Alex Garland did great things when working together on Ex Machina. They are teaming up one more for  Garland’s (Dredd, Ex Machina) adaptation of Jeff VanderMeer’s 2014 novel, Annihilation.

Isaac joins Natalie Portman, Gina Rodriguez, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Tuva Novotny and Tessa Thompson.

The film follows a biologist (Portman) who, in seeking answers to her husband’s tragic disappearance volunteers for a government expedition into an area sealed off as an environmental disaster zone. What she discovers, however, is pristine wilderness, and a mysterious dark force within it.

I loved the book and this trailer is fantastic. Looks like it has caught the strange unsettling yet beautiful feeling of the book that made it so fascinating.

The film is due out on 23rd February 2018.
