"No matter where you go, there you are."

We go In Search of Fellini in the new trailer

A shy small-town Ohio girl who loves movies but dislikes reality, discovers the delightfully bizarre films of Federico Fellini, and sets off on a strange, beautiful journey across Italy to find him.

Directed by Taron Lexton, the film stars Ksenia Solo, Maria Bello, Mary Lynn Rajskub, Enrico Oetiker, and Paolo Bernardini.

The film is the long-gestating passion project for executive producer and screenwriter Nancy Cartwright (the voice of Bart Simpson in The Simpsons) The movie is inspired by Cartwright’s own “true adventure” in 1985 when she attempted to track down legendary Italian filmmaker Federico Fellini.

Cartwright wanted to ask Fellini for his permission to turn his film La Strada into a stage production. While on her journey through Italy, Cartwright kept a detailed diary. Later in the late 1990s, she used those notes to co-write (with Peter Kjenaas), produce, and star in an autobiographical one-woman play called “In Search of Fellini,” on which the film is loosely based.

The film is due out on 15th September 2017.
