"No matter where you go, there you are."

Watch the UK trailer for Dark Night

Making its debut at Sundance Film Festival in 2016 and later screening at Venice Film Festival, Dark Knight is loosely based on real-life events that took place in in 2012 during a midnight film screening.

A suburban landscape plays witness to the inevitable, unfolding events that culminate in a Cineplex massacre. Over the course of one day, from sunrise to midnight, six strangers – the shooter among them – share in the new American nightmare.

Written and directed by up-and-coming director Tim Sutton, the film stars Robert Jumper, Anna Rose, Rosie Rodriguez, Karina Macias, Aaron Purvis, and Eddie Cacciola.

Shot in Sarasota, Florida and lensed by veteran French DP Helene Louvart (PINA, THE BEACHES OF AGNES), the dream-like visuals articulate both Sutton’s carefully crafted landscapes and the characters’ sense of alienation and suburban malaise. Winner of the Lanterna Magica Award at the Venice Film Festival following its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival.

Dark Knight is in cinemas from 18th August 2017.
