The Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle trailer is like Tron meets Freaky Friday

Sucked into a computer…..body swapping… yep, I stand with the title of the post.

I was wary of the new Jumanji film, but I quite like the fact they went a different way with it and had the characters actually go into the game. The first trailer is here and I found it to be a lot more fun than I thought it would be. Not sure whether it could last the whole film, but I think I will be checking it out. At the very least I think kids are really going to enjoy it.

In a brand new Jumanji adventure, the tables are turned as four teenagers are sucked into Jumanji’s world – pitted against rhinos, black mambas and an endless variety of jungle traps and puzzles. To survive, they’ll play as characters from the game: meek Spencer becomes a brave explorer (Dwayne Johnson); hulky jock Fridge becomes a tiny genius (Kevin Hart); It-girl Bethany becomes a bookworm professor (Jack Black); and unathletic Martha becomes an amazonian warrior (Karen Gillan). To beat the game and return to the real world with their lives, they’ll have to start seeing things in an entirely different way.

The Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle cast also includes Nick Jonas, Ser’Darius Blain, Madison Iseman, Alex Wolff and Morgan Turner.

The film is due out in the US on 20th December and in the UK on 26th December 2017.

Bad Teacher and Sex Tape helmer Jake Kasdan is directing from a screenplay by Chris McKenna & Erik Sommers and Scott Rosenberg & Jeff Pinkner. Matt Tolmach and William Teitler are producing with David Householter, Jake Kasadan, Dwayne Johnson, Dany Garcia, Ted Field and Mike Weber executive producing.

I also went after the ending of the original film in the podcast I do with Mike Spring. You can listen to that below.
