Alicia Vikander may hunt monsters in Ben Wheatley’s Freakshift

Alicia Vikander (Ex Machina, The Man From UNCLE, Tomb Raider) is currently in talks to star in a new Ben Wheatley (Kill List, High-Rise, Free Fire) film called Freakshift. Wheatley wrote the script with writing partner Amy Jump.

Apparently this will be an all-guns-blazing action thriller about a band of misfits who hunt down a kill nocturnal underground monsters. That is all we know so far, but it does sound like it could be a good one. I wonder what type of monsters they will be?

I know that Wheatley’s films can split audiences, but I quite enjoy them. Kill List was great and I am really looking forward to Free Fire. I’m still not sure about High-Rise, but it is good that Wheatley keeps mixing up the types of films he does.

The film is looking to start production this August and Vikander will finish Tomb Raider earlier in the summer.

Andrew Starke of Rook Films will produce.
