The Belko Experiment celebrates National Employee Appreciation Day


In celebration of National Appreciation Day, The Belko Experiment in partnership with Alamo Drafthouse, will host free employee appreciation screenings nationwide March 3 followed by a live streamed conversation with filmmakers James Gunn, Greg McLean and stars Tony Goldwyn and John C. McGinley.

For those stuck in their cubicles, the Belko VR – Escape Room Experience will be made available for free on the Steam Platform, to celebrate National Employee Appreciation Day.Exploring the themes of the film, players are prompted to solve a series of challenging puzzles to escape from their office before a microchip in their head explodes. The game was created by filmmakers David Yarovesky and Dan Clifton and will be available to play on HTC Vive and Oculus Rift headsets through the Steam Platform.

National Employee Appreciation Day is celebrated on the first Friday in March in the United States and Canada. It is a day for companies to thank their employees for their hard work and effort throughout the year. This day was created for the purpose of strengthening the bond between employer and employee. It has been proven that showing employees appreciation can result in a company’s higher retention rate.

In a twisted social experiment, a group of 80 Americans are locked in their high-rise office in Bogotá, Colombia, and ordered by an unknown voice coming from the company’s intercom system to participate in a deadly game of kill or be killed in order to survive. The Belko Experiment is a terrifying thrill-ride that raises provocative questions and explores the dark side of corporate morality.

Presented by Orion Pictures, an arm of MGM, The Belko Experiment, will be released in theatres by BH Tilt nationwide March 17. The film is directed by Greg McLean (The Darkness, Wolf Creek), written by James Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2) and produced by Peter Safran (The Conjuring 1 & 2, Annabelle) and Gunn. The film stars John Gallagher, Jr. (“The Newsroom,” 10 Cloverfield Lane), Tony Goldwyn (“Scandal”), Adria Arjona (“True Detective”), John C. McGinley (“Stan Against Evil,” “Scrubs”), Melonie Diaz (Fruitvale Station), Josh Brener (“Silicon Valley”) and Michael Rooker (Guardians of the Galaxy).
