  • Thandie Newton (Westworld) is in talks to join the Han Solo movie. No word on who she will be playing – Variety
  • Taika Waititi (Hunt For The Wilderpeople, What We Do In The Shadows) is teaming with Mark Gustafson to make Bubbles. This will be a stop-motion animated tale, similar to “Anomalisa.” It has Bubbles the Chimp narrating his own story and sharing the details of his life within Jackson’s inner circle through the scandals that later rocked Jackson’s life and eventually led to Bubbles’ release – Deadline
  • A Dredd sequel is going to happen, even if it is animated, according to Adi ShankarCollider
  • Jeffrey Wright, Alexander Skarsgard, Riley Keough and James Badge Dale will star in Hold the Dark, Netflix’s adventure thriller from director Jeremy Saulnier. Dark adapts the book by William Giraldi and is set in a remote Alaskan wilderness in which wolves have taken and killed children. A wolf expert biologist is called in to investigate but finds himself in between in between a secret-harboring mother, who disappears, and her husband, who goes on a maniacal spree when he returns from Iraq and learns of his son’s death.   • Sam Rockwell, Steve Zahn, Wyatt Russell, Kris Kristofferson and Richard Linklater are are going to star in Ethan Hawke’s drama Blaze. The story is based on Sybil Rosen’s memoir Living In The Woods In A Tree, about Rosen’s real, life-long love Blaze Foley, the unsung songwriting legend of the Texas Outlaw Music movement that spawned the likes of Merle Haggard and Willie Nelson – Deadline
  • Michael Douglas will return to play Hank Pym in Ant-Man and the Wasp

  • Brad Peyton (San Andreas) is going to direct another disaster movie. This one is called Black Hole. The story sees a black hole enter our solar system, setting off natural disasters on an unprecedented scale. Cities are assaulted by gigantic meteorites, continents are devastated by super-volcanoes, and Earth’s shifting axis triggers a cataclysmic second Ice Age. All the while, a team of scientists, soldiers and astronauts must work together to save the planet from imminent annihilation – Deadline
  • Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 has tested higher than any Marvel Studios movie in the company’s nine-year history. The movie’s score: a perfect 100. Insiders confirm that extremely rare if not unprecedented score, saying the movie, which Disney is set to release May 5, bested the previous top Marvel scorers, Iron Man 3 and Avengers, both of which tested in the high 90s out of 100 – THR
