Brad Peyton talks about Dwayne Johnson’s Rampage movie

I am still not sure how the old 1980’s arcade game, Rampage, will translate to the big screen. That’s the game that sees humans transformed into either giant Ape, Lizard or Wolf and you then have to make them punch buildings until they fall down.
Dwayne Johnson is set to star in the big screen adaptation, which is to be directed by Brad Peyton. They both worked together on San Andreas so at least they will be able to get the huge amounts of destruction sorted for the Rampage film.
Peyton recently spoke about the new film:
With Rampage, we are using our love of the original game as our inspiration. Then we’re going to build a movie, like San Andreas, that is really going to surprise people in what it delivers. It’s going to be a lot more emotional, a lot scarier and a lot more real than you’d expect. So you look at that original concept about a lab that affects these animals and makes them rampage, and that’s the nugget. If they called me tomorrow to do Call of Duty, I wouldn’t want to play any of the Call of Duty games. I’d have to come up with something that deserves to be its own thing. That’s where a lot of these movies can go wrong.
All sounds interesting, but I am yet to be convinced. I think I need to see some concept art or more ideas on the plot to get a better handle on it.
What are your thoughts about a Rampage movie?
