John Wick’s Chad Stahelski to direct the Highlander reboot

David Leitch and Chad Stahelski co-directed the excellent John Wick. Stahelski is directing the sequel and Leitch recently signed up to direct Deadpool 2.
Stahelski has now got another project lined up as he has signed on to direct the long in development Highlander remake/reboot for Lionsgate.
The original 1986 film was directed by Russell Mulcahy and based on a story by Gregory Widen. It starred Christopher Lambert, Sean Connery, Clancy Brown, and Roxanne Hart. The film showed the climax of an ages-old battle between immortal warriors, depicted through interwoven past and present day story-lines.
“I’ve been a huge fan of the original property since I saw it in high school,” Stahelski told THR. “Such great themes of immortality, love, and identity are all wrapped up in such colorful mythology. I can’t think of a better property that gives the opportunity to create interesting characters, mythic themes and action set pieces.”
There is now word on who will be starring in the film at the moment, but who would you like to see play the new Highlander?
