"No matter where you go, there you are."

Sean Astin, Paul Reiser, and Linnea Berthelsen join Stranger Things Season 2

Stranger Things, created by Ross and Matt Duffer, is adding three new characters for season 2, one of whom may be a new number.

Danish actress Linnea Berthelsen has been cast as Roman. She’s “an emotionally damaged, magnetic young woman who suffered a great loss as a child. Although she does not live in Hawkins, she is mysteriously connected to the supernatural events at the lab…”

Are they saying she has Magneto type powers over metal or does she have a magnetic personality?

Sean Astin (The Goonies, Lord of the Rings trilogy) will play Bob Newby, “a kindhearted former nerd who went to high school with Joyce (Winona Ryder) and Hopper (David Harbour) and now manages the local Hawkins RadioShack.”

Paul Reiser (Aliens, Whiplash) has been cast as Dr. Owens, “a high-ranking member within the Department of Energy on a ‘clean-up’ assignment, tasked with containing the events of last year.”

Great to see Astin and Reiser in the show. Nice that they have got one of The Goonies in the show as that film was one of the ones that influenced the show. I wonder if the second season will up the ante as Aliens did from Alien?

It does look like the Duffer Brothers are casting some of their movie heroes. I certainly would if I had the chance!

The 9-episode, 1984-set second season is coming in 2017 from series writers/creators Matt and Ross Duffer.

Stranger Things Season 2 will be produced by 21 Laps for Netflix. Executive Producers Shawn Levy, Dan Cohen and the Duffer Brothers will all return for the second season.
