The Predator gets a setting and Olivia Munn joins the cast

Shane Black (Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Iron Man 3, The Nice Guys) starred in the original Predator movie and he is directing the new film, which he co-wrote with Fred Dekker.

Boyd Holbrook (Narcos) is the lead and he will be joined by Olivia Munn (X-Men: Apocalypse) who will be playing a scientist, while Holbrook will be a Special Forces Commando.

Not much is know about the film apart from it being set in the present day. However, THR have said that The Predator  — whom audiences have seen fight in jungles, concrete jungles, frozen wastelands and alien planets — will be hunting in the harsh environment of … suburbia.

UPDATE: Turns out that THR were misinformed as during an interview with Collider, writer and director Shane Black told them, “The Predator is not a movie about the suburbs.”

There are also rumours that Arnold Schwarzenegger will be involved in some way.

The film is due out in March 2018 and filming is due to begin this autumn.
