Batman returns to Arkham and Adam West wants to be in The Batman

Batman is a true comic book icon. He has featured in thousands of comics, various TV shows – we have seen the return of Adam West and Burt Ward in the animated feature, Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders, quite a few movies and a lot of video games.
West also recently chatted about how he would love to cameo in Ben Affleck’s The Batman.
I remember playing a couple of Batman games years ago on my Sinclair Spectrum. Pretty much every gaming platform has had a game or two that featured the Dark Knight. Not all of them have worked, but it just goes to show how popular the character is.
Batman is so popular that he is not only featured in huge AAA games as expected, but even online casino sites have games based on it, such as the online Batman slots, a great addition to the variety of games this character has. Then we have the Batman VR game which puts you even closer to the Batman. You are wearing the cowl!
Of course, in recent years the Batman Arkham games have been the ones to play. Not only are they great Batman games, but just excellent video games. They made Arkham Asylum and Gotham City living, breathing places and featured a whole host of Batman’s rogue gallery.
Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City have been remastered and are heading our way in the shape of Batman: Return to Arkham.
Remastered by Virtuos, the new pack gives us a chance to replay the first two Batman: Arkham titles. That includes the Game of the Year Edition bonus and downloadable content from both games. Both have improved graphics, upgraded models, environments, lighting, effects and shaders.
Batman: Arkham Asylum was the first game that took Batman into the depths of Arkam Asylum. Developed by Rocksteady Studios, it was first released in 2009 and was the first time the player actually felt as if they were seeing the Batman we know and love from the comics. It introduced an innovative fighting technique that saw you taking on gangs of thugs as only Batman can. Add in the predator mode when you sneak around taking out the bad guys one by one as their fear rises. It had a great story and we saw a whole host of Batman’s Rogue Gallery including The Joker, Harley Quinn, Killer Croc, and Scarecrow. With just your wits, a few gadgets and a life time of preparation it was up to Batman to take back the Asylum from the criminals.
Batman: Arkham City was released in 2011 and Rocksteady Studios once again developed the game. It built on what had gone before, but this time a section of Gotham City had become the new Arkham – Arkham City, home to all the criminals of Gotham and it had been carved up by the likes of The Joker, The Penguin, Two-Face and Mr. Freeze. Then you have all the puzzles spread around the city by The Riddler. That meant it was a bigger play area and you finally got to swing and run across the rooftops of Gotham. It expanded the whole scope and concept laid down in the first game and became a worthy edition to the video game exploits of Batman.
Both games were great fun and to be able to play remastered versions is great news.
