Get Out – The trailer for Jordan Peele’s new horror film is scary good

I really like the look of this. Jordan Peele (Key and Peele) is behind the camera for this new Blumhouse called Get Out. As well as directing, Peele also wrote the screenplay for the film which stars Daniel Kaluuya, Allison Williams, Catherine Keener, Bradley Whitford, Caleb Landry Jones, Betty Gabriel, Milton “Lil Rel” Howery, Keith Stanfield, and Marcus Henderson.

In Universal Pictures’ Get Out, a speculative thriller from Blumhouse (producers of The Visit, Insidious series and The Gift) and the mind of Jordan Peele, when a young African-American man visits his white girlfriend’s family estate, he becomes ensnared in a more sinister real reason for the invitation.

Now that Chris (Daniel Kaluuya) and his girlfriend, Rose (Allison Williams), have reached the meet-the-parents milestone of dating, she invites him for a weekend getaway upstate with Missy (Catherine Keener) and Dean (Bradley Whitford).

At first, Chris reads the family’s overly accommodating behavior as nervous attempts to deal with their daughter’s interracial relationship, but as the weekend progresses, a series of increasingly disturbing discoveries lead him to a truth that he could have never imagined.

To be honest it does seem to share some similarities with the brilliant The Invitation – a couple going to visit family/friends, hit a deer on the way there, people act odd, things go really bad – but this is just the first trailer (which may be a bit spoilery), but it looks very good and rather creepy. Kind of like The Stepford Wives meets Guess Who’s Coming To Dinner.

Get Out will be with us in February 2017.
