Chloë Grace Moretz joins Tilda Swinton in the Suspiria remake

Last year I reported on the fact that Luca Guadagnino (A Bigger Splash) was attached to the remake of Dario Argento’s classic Suspiria.
He wanted to reunite with the cast of A Bigger Splash – Dakota Johnson, Matthias Schoenaerts, Ralph Fiennes and Tilda Swinton – to make the film.
It looks like Tilda Swinton and Dakota Johnson are definitely involved in the film, and now Variety have the news that Chloë Grace Moretz has also joined the film.
The original follows a young ballet dancer who travels to a prestigious dance academy in Europe, only to discover it is a front for something far more sinister and supernatural amidst a series of increasingly grisly murders.
Suspiria is a horror classic, and this is one of those few times when I do wonder what the point is in remaking it. They’re really going to have to knock this new version out of the park to get close to the original. The fact Tilda Swinton is involved means I will still be seeing it as I do enjoy her in pretty much everything I have seen her in.
Amazon Studios has acquired the worldwide distribution rights and is financing the production.
What are your thoughts on the Suspiria remake?
